DIETS. Ahhh the sound of it sends chills to some. Well, there is D-I-E in the word itself, so who can blame them? Jokes aside, what good is losing weight only to regain it? To keep pounds off permanently, it’s best to lose weight slowly. And many experts say you can do that without having to “DIE-T.” Instead, the key is making simple tweaks to your lifestyle. Here are some ways.
One habit that’s common to many people who have lost weight and kept it off is eating breakfast every day. Like, every single morning.
Studies show people who eat breakfast have lower BMIs breakfast-skippers and perform better throughout the day. Now now, you guys that practice IF, this is about not having to DIET, so don’t get all sensitive ya, chill out! Try a bowl of oats with fruits or eggs and toast with avocados for a light and wholesome breakfast.
Have you ever wandered into the kitchen at night because your mouth had the itch to munch on something? You know you’re not supposed to but you just can’t control that itch. Don’t give in to those late night munchies if you want to keep those pounds off. Stop eating your dinner way past the recommended hours and keep your brain from playing tricks on you. Lemme tell ya it’s pretty good at it. That lil’ sneaky pinky thing? Yeah. Don’t give in to it.
I hate to break this to ya, but there’s nothing more damaging than soda and sweetened drinks. In short, those give you loads of calories and little to none benefits. DIET COKE isn’t really beneficial to your weight loss too, even with that DIET word. Props to you Coke. Satisfy your thirst with water, and be careful of alcohol calories, which also add up crazy quick if you’re not careful.
Guys, avoid the temptation by staying away from all-you-can-eat restaurants. As the saying goes “What you see is what you get… uh wait. hmm wait that’s probably wrong” anyway- All You Can Eat also translates to Piling Up Those Calories Quick. Stock up your home with plenty of healthy options and don’t venture into the wrong food place at night.
If you did nothing else but reduce your portions by 10%-20%, you would lose weight. This is proven. Most of the portions served both in restaurants and at home are bigger than you really need. I mean, look at the size of ‘This’ Not too sure if you really need to eat all of that, but what I do know is if you’re eating 20% less and saying No to sugar drinks, you’ll lose weight.
Whenever you can, use the low-fat versions of salad dressings, mayonnaise, dairy products, and so on. Low fat doesn’t mean it’s not tasty, it’s just reduced cholesterols and saturated fats, which your body obviously doesn’t need. Less is more.
The magic number is 10,000…. steps that is. Throughout your waking day, do what you can to be more active – like walking around the house whenever you can, move around when you talk on the phones or meetings. Yeah, you can, cos most of you turn off your cameras anyway, and do some workouts if you’re dedicated enough. Those extra calories burnt will take you a long way. One thing’s for sure. People usually underestimate the calories they burn naturally through the day and overestimate the calories burnt while working out. Find your balance guys. Don’t… sit around doing nothing.
Of course, everybody has their own preferences and these tips may work for some while not for others. You are in control of your body and you don’t need diets to help you lose weight.
