So I recently posted a comic about How it’s so friggin hard to fall back into a good dream once you abruptly wake from one, and that got me thinking about many things regarding SLEEP. It’s like you either sleep well or you don’t. There’s no in betweens. But have you ever had a super sweet dream that got taken away from you and you try your best to dive back into it, only for it to flash you that “TALK TO MY HAND” denial of entry? Yeah.. that’s right. Here’s the story.
People have weird patterns when it comes to sleep. Some sleep the recommended 8 hours. Some.. the bare minimum (4 hours?) Babies sleep 14, and Gamers.. Yeaaaah you know them. 48 hours no sleep? YEAH I did it!
Wut the heck? That’s not something you want to celebrate.
By no means am I an expert in sleep, but I’ve always wondered about stuff like:
Do sleeping postures make you dream better? Why do we even need to sleep?
Does sleeping make you happier?
That’s when I ask my friends, whenever I have a question I can’t be bothered to ‘Google About’ because you know, WE ARE GROOT man…
UGH I don’t know about pastures, but it’s not a coincidence that I sleep with a knife under my pillow. You never know when someone is going to break in and give you a cake. Muahaha.”
There are many theories on why humans even need to sleep, but I’m pretty sure it’s to charge our phones.
Yes, sleep makes anyone happy. “Start each day with a positive thought like, “I can go back to bed in 12 or 13 short hours. Definitely a good day ahead.
On the other hand, you have the sleep deprived ones. Those are the kind that usually tell you they can’t sleep for whatever the reason is. Maybe they’re hyperactive in their day jobs. Probably they have one-too-many cuppa joes? Or maybe their eyeballs are scared of the dark. I wish I could tell them how to sleep easier, like it’s no secret I often KO 5-10 seconds after I close my eyes (much to the annoyance of my partner), unless my brain decides to mess with me, I pretty much have no issues in falling asleep. No offense imsomaniacs, I just can’t even if I tried.
What I do know is I am never able to chase my dreams. You know, those sweet ol’ yummy dreams where you’ve had the best time of your life only to wake up at the BEST POSSIBLE moment and realize “Sweet dream of mine, where do we go, where do we go?”
And then you try to fall back to sleep to get back into that dream only for your brain to further mess you up by sending you to another dream where you’re in the middle of an Ice Cream Wonderland.
‘Wtf brain’ ? GAD I wish I had the ability to fall back into dreams whenever I wanted.
If that isn’t enough, how bout each and every time I work deep into the night, only to realize
Oh gosh it’s 3am, what have I been doing? Yeah… guess it’s time for bed.
And once I crash onto my bed, I get this super comfy feeling and I know it’s gonna be a good night’s sleep. Only to be staring at the ceiling a couple of minutes later and wondering… Dammit brain Y U DO DIS TO ME? Giving me super great ideas at this hour? YEAH U MAD BRO?
